new unit.
2) Buying a unit from an Auto Wrecking Yard could cause many headaches such as
the following:
A) You will not be sure of the condition of the Starter or Alternator.
B) May be as poor as your current unit, or close to failure; e.g. The brushes on an
Alternator could almost be worn out.) Bearings sitting to long can collect moisture
inside, which would rust up the balls or needles inside the bearing. This would cause
them to seize up, burning the Belt off, and of course causing more damage to the
inside of the Alternator, and, THIS WILL HAPPEN AT THE WORST POSSIBLE TIME!
C) Unsure you if you have the right unit for your vehicle. Starters and Alternators
may look the same on the outside but may be different on the inside.
